Your Impact
The Ariba Technical Specialist is responsible for providing senior-level application support and controlled change execution for procurement platforms within Global Asahi Procurement.
This role requires strong Ariba system configuration skills and hands-on experience in the setup and configuration of e-procurement solutions, enabling effective management of both functional and technical changes across procurement systems.
The role focuses on Change Request Management, Problem Management, and Release Management, ensuring stable, compliant, and predictable operation of procurement platforms while enabling approved enhancements and system improvements. A key emphasis is placed on Ariba configuration and technical skills, including the ability to support and optimise system performance through configuration and continuous improvement initiatives.
The position acts as a key escalation point for complex incidents and system issues, leveraging technical integration skills to troubleshoot and resolve cross-system challenges. It also supports business stakeholders and AGPS service lines with expert guidance, functioning as an Ariba technical consultant to provide insights on system capabilities, configurations, and best practices.
Working closely with IT, vendors, and platform providers, the role ensures seamless delivery of Run & Support services, including system enhancements, integration activities, and release deployments. Additionally, the position emphasizes compliance and risk management, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to simplify processes, enhance system usability, and create value across procurement systems and activities.
Key responsibilities
- Perform hands-on system configuration and changes within procurement platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba), including workflows, approval rules, master data settings, and integrations.
- Translate business requirements into technical system changes, ensuring correct configuration, testing, and deployment without reliance on external teams for standard changes.
- Provide L2/L3 application support for procurement platforms, acting as the escalation point for complex incidents and ensuring SLA adherence.
- Lead problem management and root-cause analysis, coordinating permanent fixes and preventative actions with IT teams and vendors.
- Partner with business stakeholders, AGPS service lines, IT platform owners, and external vendors to deliver stable run operations and approved system changes.
- Ensure compliance, data integrity, and service performance, maintaining documentation, meeting KPIs, and driving continuous improvement.
About you
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on L2/L3 application support experience in enterprise environments, preferably with procurement systems or ERPs (SAP Ariba preferred).
- Proven experience managing Change, Problem, and Release processes, with strong understanding of impact assessment and controlled delivery.
- Confident communicator able to work effectively with global stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and integration partners.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and improvement-driven, with strong ownership of service quality, compliance, and operational stability.
